3 decades of gist in 3 hours……….yep! that’s what happened when a diverse group of 82-83 set chaps got together at the Palms Soul Lounge on Saturday evening (Oct 11). Raucous backslapping, identification parade (imagine seeing someone u had not seen for 27 years-Conrad Suinner!), bubblies in buckets, asun, and gist only as can be rendered by Amilegbe/Ogidi bred boys made the nite simply unforgettable…Roll call: Remi Adeseun, Demola Oduwole, Conrad Suinner, Benedict Uzoebo, Femi Edun, Obeahon Ohiwerei, Bisi Adesanoye, Folu Aderibigbe, Francis (Franco Nero) Ikeneku. Learnt Gbenga Ekundayo arrived at past midnite after some of us had left…Leo Adekoya joined in by phone from London!

Feedback

Well, thanks to everyone for your kind comments. But seriously, the real issue is not about whether we can organise ourselves in or out of a paper bag, or where we are located.  The issue is about the investment of time and resources. We cite Remi Adeseun’s achievements when he was President; we refer to Ayo Joseph as a role model for the Alumni Association; we refer to Ifidon Aikhoje’s excellent delivery with this site and the forum it provides.  What they share is COMMITMENT.

They have matched their emotions with CONCRETE ACTION and DELIBERATE INVESTMENT OF THEIR TIME AND MONEY. There are no free lunches (…or dinners for that matter…). Let’s stop talking about things, let’s DO something.

Some of us can devote time and effort, others can deploy their skills and talents, others may be able to

Well, thanks to everyone for your kind comments. But seriously, the real issue is not about whether we can organise ourselves in or out of a paper bag or where we are located. The issue is about the investment of time and resources. Through this forum, we have cited Remi Adeseun’s achievements when he was President; we refer to Ayo Joseph as a role model for the Alumni Association; we acknowledge Ifidon’s excellent delivery with this site and the forum it provides; we acknowledge JAI (Benjamin [Jaco]) Obuhoro’s work in enhancing the site and so on.

What they share is COMMITMENT. They have matched their emotions with CONCRETE ACTION and DELIBERATE INVESTMENT OF THEIR TIME AND MONEY. There are no free lunches (…or dinners for that matter…).  Some of us can devote time and effort, others can deploy their skills and talents, others may be able to write cheques. Whatever we can do, let’s “JUST DO IT”!
